The History & Future of Land Conservation on Cape Cod

Mark Robinson, Executive Director of The Compact of Cape Cod Conservation Trusts since its founding in 1986, takes a look back at milestones in the preservation of Cape Cod, from early visionaries who understood that the Cape was at risk for overdevelopment even in the 1800s, to civic-minded residents who donated land for public use, to the rise of town open space efforts, the Land Bank Era, and the birth of the vibrant nonprofit land trust movement.  Later, he discusses emerging trends in undevelopment and ecorestoration.  Collectively, 40 percent of the Cape is protected open space; is it enough?
